SUCCESSFUL MISSION: 17 SMALL SATELLITES SEPARATED IN ORBIT FROM AEROSPACE CAPITAL DEPLOYERS

On July 25, 2025, at 08:54 MSK, the Soyuz-2.1 rocket with a Fregat upper stage was successfully launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. The Ionosphere-M No. 3–4 satellites were injected into orbit; a secondary payload of 18 small spacecraft (SC) was also delivered. This launch marked the 20th mission from Vostochny.

17 Russian commercial SC were successfully separated in orbit using 5 deployers designed by Aerospace Capital. The following satellites were integrated in Aerospace deployers: - 9 SC by Geoscan Group, - 4 SC by Russian customer and 4 SC for the AstroLine space mission. All satellites are now taken under control by their customers.

First Russian 16U satellite and deployer: During this launch the first 16U CubeSat by Geoscan Group was integrated in an Aerospace 16U deployer. The 16U deployer is 11.5 cm taller than the standard 12U. The Aerospace 16U deployer successfully completed its flight test.

Upgraded Aerospace separation system: For this mission, our technical team enhanced the systems. Updates included modifying the deployer doors—previously both doors had magnetic locks, while the new version uses only one active door. This reduced the deployer’s weight by 1.2 kg. The upgraded 12U deployer had already been tested in orbit during last year’s Ionosphere-M No. 1–2 mission.

Mission operator: Roscosmos State Corporation. Glavkosmos JSC (a subsidiary of Roscosmos) is a lead integrator for the secondary payload launch and provided launch services.

We extend gratitude to Glavkosmos JSC and its contractors—Russian space industry enterprises—for the successful launch. We also thank our customers and congratulate everyone involved in the Soyuz-2/Fregat mission accomplished on July 25, 2025!

IN TOTAL 137 CUBESATS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFULLY SEPARATED IN ORBIT USING 40 AEROSPACE CAPITAL DEPLOYERS.
