9 CUBESAT satellites are separated in orbit
In February - March 2021, the Aerospace Capital team participated in the launch campaign at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The specialists installed 2 deployers and a sequencer on the payload frame of the Fregat upper stage in the AITB of the Baikonur Cosmodrome technical complex.
On March 22, 2021, at 09:07 Moscow time, the Soyuz-2 LV/Fregat US blasted off with 39 satellites onboard. The launch was operated by GK Launch Services.
Upon reaching the required orbit and the pre-set time point, the Aerospace Capital sequencer, being part of the SC separation system, issued sequential command signals for opening 7 doors of the two deployers (4x3U and 2x3U+6U) to separate the CubeSats. All the doors of the deployers opened nominally, and all 9 CubeSats (from 7 countries) were successfully separated in the target orbit. The launch customers established contact with the CubeSats and took in-orbit satellites under control.
Congratulations to all the participants of the Soyuz-2/Fregat US mission launched on March 22, 2021! We would like to extend our thanks to GK Launch Services and their contractors, companies of the Russian space industry, for the successful launch!
